Painting- Assignment #10

Artistic Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect of my painting would be the background. I think the water is my strongest technical aspect because to me it looks realistic and ties the whole painting together. The water pattern also makes it look like it is water. The technical aspect that I could improve on would be the blue stripes on the fish. To me they seem a little bit too big and take away from the textured stripes. I would've probably gone back and made the stripes smaller.
The easy part of this project was coloring in the fish and creating the outline of the fish. It was easy because of the magnetic lasso tool and the polygon lasso tools. Those tools made the filling in and creating the outline easy to do. One of the hardest parts of this project was the texture on the orange stripes and the fins around the fish. It was difficult for me to find the texture that best suited the fish. The fins were difficult because it took me awhile for me to have the fins appear around the fish. They were not showing up due to the many layers I have but eventually I figured out a way for the fins to show up.
The objective of this project was to use the texture brushes and apply them to our painting. I completed the objective by creating the about three layers of blue shades and than adding another layer for the texture. I used the texture to portray that, it was water. I also used the texture tools for the orange stripes and the fins around the fish. By adding the texture it made the fish seem more realistic.

Pop Art-Assignments #8 & #9

Artist Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect of my work would be the colors.  The colors of my Taylor Swift pop art, are all pastel colors. They blend in together and go well together. I think the colors in that pop art hale balance it. The colors in my Andy Warhol pop art are all vibrant which makes it pop and they help balance out the pop art. The technical aspect of my work that I could improve on would be my painting skill for the Taylor Swift pop art. The painting in the first pop art assignment are not that good. The colors of her cardigan and her skin (neck) collided with each other. The neck line of her shirt is darker than the rest of her shirt. I wish that it didn't look like that.

The easy part of the first pop art assignment was the desaturation part. It was easy to have Taylor Swift pixelated therefore creating the pop art effect. The difficult part go the first pop art assignment was the clipping path. Once I had completed that step, the colors were not showing up. Since they were not showing up, I had to start all over. I was confused with the clipping path step because I followed the directions but it wasn't working, but eventually I had got the clipping path to work.
The easy part of the Andy Warhol assignment was the hue/saturation  step. This step was what completed the whole image and was easy to complete. The difficult part was probably getting all the four images to line up with each other and creating the 2x2 grid. It was difficult to get all the images the same sizes and having it look like a 2x2 grid.

The objective of the first pop art was to turn ordinary portrait into a pop art inspired piece using the pen tool, clipping paths, and fill layers. I have completed this objective by taking a picture of Taylor Swift and turning it into a pop art. I learned how to create clipping paths and how to create the fill layers in order to have the pop art appearance.  For the second assignment the objective was to use adjustment, threshold and than hue/staturation. I used the threshold to highlight the hair, face, shoes, and shirt on Seleana Gomez. I used the hue/staturation to change the colors of the image in all four images.

Animal Hybrid-Assignment #7

Artist Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect for my animal would be the fur on the dolphins. This is my strongest technical aspect because it looks realistic cause I had used my clone stamp tool to get the fur onto the dolphin. I also made the fur different shades like it was on the snow leopard. The part that I could improve on would be the parts where I had the dolphin skin showing. On the tail of the big dolphin and the fin on the small dolphin it doesn't look that realistic because the dolphin skin looks a little like painted on.
The easy part of this activity was the background. I used the mask tool to get the sunset in the background. Using the mask tool made it really easy for me to change the background. The difficult part of this activity was using the clone stamp. It was a bit difficult because I had to keep going back and forth to get the fur. It was also difficult for me to get the dolphin skin showing through since I had put the fur on the whole dolphin and then went back and get the dolphin skin to show.
The objective of this project was creating the animal hybrid by using the clone stamp. I demonstrated this by using the clone stamp to get the snow leopard fur on the dolphin and the dolphin skin on the dolphin. If I could do this art activity again, I would have only put the snow leopard fur on the face and most of the dolphin leaving the tail, and the fins. By doing that I think my animal would look more realistic. Since, I had cover my whole dolphin with fur, I had to go back and use the clone stamp tool to the dolphin skin and apply it on the tail and fins on the dolphin. I think since I had to use the stamp tool, the dolphin skin that is being shown looks a little fake compared to the fur.

Shape Collage Assignment #6

Artistic Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect of my shape collage is my background circles. I think there my strongest technical aspect because they are in the center of my project and tie in all of the rectangles and squares together. The technical aspect of my work that I could improve on is the rectangles or squares in the corners of my project. I feel as if they kind of look like they don't belong there. I wish that I had places the squares behind the circles, but not all of the background circles. I wish that I had just places them behind the circle they are blocking.

The easy part of this activity was using the rectangular and elliptical marquee tool. They were easy to have the shapes ad fill them in. Using these tools made the project easier to complete. The difficult part of this activity was getting all the sides look symmetrical. It was difficult because you had to get all of the sides to line up with each other from the top to bottom.

The objective of this project was to create a complex radically symmetrical design with shapes and colors of my choice. I demonstrated this activity by using the same colors as the circles in the background by using the eye dropper tool. I also used both of the marquee tools and demo started them in different sizes. I changed the opacity of some things such as the rectangles on the corners. I also overlapped the shapes throughout the project. If I could do this project again, I would try to do a different and more complex design. I feel like mine is too simple, so I would have somehow made it more complex by using more of the marquee tools.

Assignment #5 - Polaroid Collage

Artistic Reflection:

The strongest technical aspect of this assignment would be the background. I was able to have the background show despite the fact that I had a little bit of room for the background. The background also helps complete the picture. I like the pattern and the two colors that I chose for the background. I think that the floral background goes with the picture because it is nature, and the picture was outside on the grass.  The technical aspect of my collage that I could improve on would be the polaroids. I think that the polaroids are too crowded together and sort of look like a mess. I wish that the layout of the polaroid sort of flowed together more and was not so crowded as much as it is.

The easy part of this activity was the background. The background only took one day to complete. It was easy for the background to be visible. It was also easy to get the three layers for the background. Getting the two colors to be visible on the background pattern was simple and easy. The difficult part of this collage was the polaroids. I and a hard time with laying out the polaroids and getting rid of some parts that were overlapping. This process also took the longest for me to complete.

The objective of this art activity was to create, using one intact image as well as balance thematic collage that is the illusion of scattered polaroids with something braking the plane and multi-layered background. I created the illusion of the scattered polaroids by the way I laid them out. I had the arm on the left side breaking the plane and used two pink colors and a pattern  for the multi-layered background. If I had the opportunity to do this project again, I would do it. I would probably chosen a different picture because I think that the problem with my picture was that it was too complicated. The picture did not really have much movement and involved two people. If I had chosen a different picture, I think that my collage would look much more appealing.

Photoshop Tattoo Artist - Assignment #4

Artistic Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect of my fake tattoo is the tattoo itself. It looks real because I changed the opacity level to seem like a real tattoo. I also used the warp tool to have tattoo seem like it is wrapped around the wrist. The technical aspect that I could improve on would be the highlights and the burn tool. The highlights seem very noticeable and I wish that they blended in more. The burn tool seems noticeable underneath highlights on the right side. I wish that they blended in more with my arm and skin color.
The easy part of this activity would be having the fake tattoo look believable. I used the warp tool to have the tattoo look like it wrapped around my wrist. I also changed the opacity level to have the color seem believable rather using the original color the tattoo was in. The difficult part of this activity was getting the highlights to seem realistic. This was hard for me because I had a difficult time trying to get the burn tool and highlight tool to work. I also had a hard time getting the color to seem believable on my arm.
The objective in this project was to apply the black and white tattoo onto a person that wraps around the contours of my body by employing the dodge and burn tool and a displacement map. I made the displacement map for the art activity and also applied the dodge and burn tool on my arm. The only thing I would change in my project would be the highlights. I think the highlights are a little too much noticeable. I would have the highlighter not seem so noticeable.

Landscape Collage - Assignment #3

Artistic Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect of my project would be the middle ground. The stable and the fencing looks the most realistic to me. I think this is my strongest technical aspect of my project because you can't tell that I cropped it into the picture. The technical aspect that I think I could improve on is the trees behind the stable. For some reason there seems to be part of the tree missing on the left side of the picture. I tried getting the whole tree back but it kept doing the same thing.
The easy part of this activity was getting the sky in the background. It was really easy because I used the mask took. This allowed the background to look realistic. The mountain was already in the background and using the mask tool, allowed me too keep the mountain. I also think that the mountain in the background allowed the sky to seem realistic.  The difficult part of this activity was getting all the different pictures to look realistic and not photoshopped into the picture. This was difficult because you had to get rid of all the access background in each picture. You also had to place ash picture in a certain way that did not make it look realistic. This required time for each picture in order for it not to look fake.
The objective in this art activity was to create a foreground, middle ground, and background. I created the foreground by putting in the first picture which was the grass and the mountain the background. I also added in horses to help the foreground seem more realistic and to add more detail. The middle ground was formed by adding in the stable, fence and the stack of hay. I think that the middle ground seemed to go along really well with the foreground. They both get along together because they both deal with the same theme which was the farm and horses. The background allowed the whole picture to come together. The background in this case is the sky and the mountain. This allowed the whole picture to come together because it goes along with everything that i included in this art activity.

Personal Identity - Assignment #2

Artistic Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect in my Personal Identity Assignment would be the space. The space allows the art to create a background, middle ground and foreground. I think it is my strongest aspect because it allows my art to be eye-appealing and realistic. I think I can improve on my layers that I have. I think if I move some of my layers, my assignment would look more eye-catching. If I move the traveling text a little bit further away from the birds that could look more attractive. I wish that the building that I put in matched the colors more of the building that are already in the picture.
I think that finding the coloring pages and putting them into the assignment was easy. It was easy to find what you wanted and insert it where you wanted it and have it seem like it blends in. The difficult part of the art activity was coloring the objets in and have the colors seem realistic. It was more difficult for me to get the building to seem realistic.  This art activity had some aspects that were easy and difficult to use.
The objective of this activity was to do a self portrait unified through color. I demonstrated the objective by using the colors from the backgrounds picture that I chose. I also used items that represented what I liked and colors that went along with each item. If I could do this art activity again I would make a few adjustments to my activity. I would just move the birds and the Traveling text around and use a more realistic building. Otherwise, I feel like I would not do anything else to my project.

Text Design Assignment #1- Sahar Sabir

Artistic Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect of my art would be the shape. I like how the shape and the curve of the letter S goes through each other. The shape also allows the art to blend together, and flow together as well. The technical aspect of my work I could improve on is the color. I like the how the magenta, and the pink colors blend well together. I feel like the blue makes the work not look  as eye-appealing as it would be without the blue color. I would have chosen colors that complement each other like pink, orange and yellow.
The layering of each letter was easy in this art activity. It was easy because we had the tools in order to layer each letter. All we had to was either create a new layer or duplicate another layer. The difficult part in this activity was trying to get everything to be symmetrical, although we could duplicate a layer we had to rotate or flip. We had to put it in the right place and had to be the same length. It was hard to get the layers all to be symmetrical to one another and transform them.
I demonstrated the objective in this activity by balancing the color, and radial symmetry. I used only one font and one letter. I used the rotate and flip tool in order to balance the radial symmetry. I also used the same colors and the gradient tool. Ny doing this activity I have learned how to apply different tools into my art. If could do this art activity again I would do it differently. I would use a different color scheme and maybe a different letter. I would use a different color scheme that would blend in and complement each other better. I would use a different letter to experiment more and see how the letter you choose affects the art activity. Each letter has a different shape and length and can affect the way your assignment looks.
