Painting- Assignment #10

Artistic Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect of my painting would be the background. I think the water is my strongest technical aspect because to me it looks realistic and ties the whole painting together. The water pattern also makes it look like it is water. The technical aspect that I could improve on would be the blue stripes on the fish. To me they seem a little bit too big and take away from the textured stripes. I would've probably gone back and made the stripes smaller.
The easy part of this project was coloring in the fish and creating the outline of the fish. It was easy because of the magnetic lasso tool and the polygon lasso tools. Those tools made the filling in and creating the outline easy to do. One of the hardest parts of this project was the texture on the orange stripes and the fins around the fish. It was difficult for me to find the texture that best suited the fish. The fins were difficult because it took me awhile for me to have the fins appear around the fish. They were not showing up due to the many layers I have but eventually I figured out a way for the fins to show up.
The objective of this project was to use the texture brushes and apply them to our painting. I completed the objective by creating the about three layers of blue shades and than adding another layer for the texture. I used the texture to portray that, it was water. I also used the texture tools for the orange stripes and the fins around the fish. By adding the texture it made the fish seem more realistic.

Pop Art-Assignments #8 & #9

Artist Reflection:
The strongest technical aspect of my work would be the colors.  The colors of my Taylor Swift pop art, are all pastel colors. They blend in together and go well together. I think the colors in that pop art hale balance it. The colors in my Andy Warhol pop art are all vibrant which makes it pop and they help balance out the pop art. The technical aspect of my work that I could improve on would be my painting skill for the Taylor Swift pop art. The painting in the first pop art assignment are not that good. The colors of her cardigan and her skin (neck) collided with each other. The neck line of her shirt is darker than the rest of her shirt. I wish that it didn't look like that.

The easy part of the first pop art assignment was the desaturation part. It was easy to have Taylor Swift pixelated therefore creating the pop art effect. The difficult part go the first pop art assignment was the clipping path. Once I had completed that step, the colors were not showing up. Since they were not showing up, I had to start all over. I was confused with the clipping path step because I followed the directions but it wasn't working, but eventually I had got the clipping path to work.
The easy part of the Andy Warhol assignment was the hue/saturation  step. This step was what completed the whole image and was easy to complete. The difficult part was probably getting all the four images to line up with each other and creating the 2x2 grid. It was difficult to get all the images the same sizes and having it look like a 2x2 grid.

The objective of the first pop art was to turn ordinary portrait into a pop art inspired piece using the pen tool, clipping paths, and fill layers. I have completed this objective by taking a picture of Taylor Swift and turning it into a pop art. I learned how to create clipping paths and how to create the fill layers in order to have the pop art appearance.  For the second assignment the objective was to use adjustment, threshold and than hue/staturation. I used the threshold to highlight the hair, face, shoes, and shirt on Seleana Gomez. I used the hue/staturation to change the colors of the image in all four images.
